Dubna is a very young town north of Moscow. Since it harbours many famous scientific institutes for
nuclear physics, it is nick-named "Naukograd". Dubna was founded as a
town in the 1950s. It is located on the riverside of the Volga-River.
Halfway between Dubna and Moskow, Dmitroff shows the heritage of the
old russian history. It will celebrate its 850th aniversary in
2005. It has a beautiful old kremlin with museums showing relikts
of the older (imperial) and younger (defense of Moskow during WW II)
history.
